Meet Tim & Ashley Fair | Rhapsody Owners
Rhapsody Music Studio is a family-owned music school founded by husband-and-wife team Tim and Ashley Fair. For more than 17 years, they have dedicated their lives to helping children grow in confidence, character, and musical ability through a caring and encouraging learning environment.
As parents themselves, Tim and Ashley understand that every child learns differently. That’s why they have built a studio culture where students feel welcomed, supported, and excited to learn. Families often tell us that Rhapsody feels less like a business and more like a community where children are known by name, celebrated for their progress, and encouraged every step of the way.
Whether your child is taking their very first music class or continuing their musical journey, our goal is simple: to help every student experience the joy, confidence, and lifelong benefits that music can bring.

FAQ
Are group piano classes as effective as private lessons?
Yes. For many students, group piano classes can be just as effective—and sometimes even more effective—than private lessons. The Piano Express system combines personalized instruction, interactive technology, and peer motivation to keep students engaged and practicing consistently. Research shows students using this approach can progress through beginning piano method books up to three times faster than with more traditional methods, while building skills that support long-term musical growth.
What age is best for group piano classes?
We offer two beginner-friendly programs. Piano Playground is designed for ages 4–6 and introduces young learners to piano, rhythm, singing, listening, and music fundamentals through fun, engaging activities. Piano Express is designed for ages 7+ and helps students learn piano through a structured, gamified approach that keeps them motivated and progressing.
Do we need a piano or keyboard at home?
For Piano Express (ages 7+), a piano or digital keyboard at home is essential for regular practice and steady progress. For Piano Playground (ages 4–6), a small beginner keyboard is ideal, but students can still benefit greatly from the class because it includes both piano and general music activities. We are happy to recommend affordable keyboard options.
How long are the classes?
Piano Playground classes meet once per week for 45 minutes. Piano Express classes meet once per week for 60 minutes.
Does my child need previous piano experience?
No! Both Piano Playground and Piano Express are designed for beginners. Students can join with little or no prior musical experience.
Will my child receive individual attention in a group class?
Absolutely. Our classes are intentionally kept small so students receive personal guidance while also enjoying the motivation and social benefits of learning alongside their peers.
What will my child learn?
Students develop rhythm, note reading, listening skills, technique, musicianship, and confidence. Lessons combine structured learning with fun activities that keep students engaged and excited to return each week.
